To ensure a secure, seamless and hassle-free collection service, each client is assigned an Account Manager to look after their account.
This Manager will be present on the collection to ensure it runs smoothly and to deal with any problems that may arise.
Furthermore, once our Total Computers UK Ltd uniformed operatives have started the collection, our policy is to make sure the collection vehicle is supervised or securely locked at all times.
We collect from anywhere in the building with minimum disruption to the workplace and maximum security of any data-containing items.

What we do:
Total computers UK Ltd aims to offer the most secure, flexible and cost-effective collection, data destruction and recycling service in Greater Manchester.
We are fully aware of our clients’ responsibilities under the Data Protection Act 1998. Not only do we offer a guaranteed and certified data destruction service, by either wiping or physically destroying the items containing such data, but we ensure security from the time of collection through to destruction.
First of all, we attach unique number stickers to any item containing data at the time of collection and any loose hard drives are loaded into a secure storage box.
- The collection vehicle is always supervised or locked once collection has commenced.
- The collection vehicle is unloaded inside our warehouse to avoid any potential theft while unloading.
- The data-containing items are put straight into processing or kept in a secure holding cage until processing and destruction.
Why do we do this:
The Data Protection Act 1998 applies to all personal data whether it’s about your clients or employees and applies to all personal data as minor as phone numbers and addresses.
All companies holding personal data relating to employees and/or customers are responsible for complying with The Data Protection Act 1998. The Act states that companies have a duty of care to ensure that such data is kept confidential and does not leak into the public domain.

After the necessary data destruction and debadging of our clients' logos has taken place, equipment is then tested, operating systems reinstalled where necessary and then resold to domestic and business users.
Commission from your resold equipment will be deducted from your next invoice.
You can allow your employees to benefit from your redundant equipment, once we have wiped, tested and reinstalled software we can either deliver the equipment back to you or we can sell and deliver your equipment direct to your employees.
